I'm looking for a new set of 17" tires for my Audi A4 Quattro. I live in Wisconsin so snow is a factor. I drive less than 10k per year but I drive spiritedly. My main concerns are cornering ability and noise. I want to not be mushy in the corners, but yet still a comfortable, quiet ride. I'm thinking an all-season rather than any dedicated summer or winter tire.
I dont have the year of your vehicle so Im guessing you need a 235/45R17 94H rated tire. Michelin makes the new Premier A/S in this size and application this tire is all season with the (H) performance rating and is getting rave reviews from the consumers that have purchased them. If you want excellent winter traction I would recommend an all-weather tire like the Nokian WRG3 . This tire has a higher performance rating (V) but also has the severe service symbol on the tire showing that it has been tested in winter conditions and snow. The Nokian will perform like a winter tire when its cold and snowy in Wisconsin and can be run all year as an all-weather tire.

Great insight..I would go with the Bridgestone Turanza for the quieter ride, or the Potenza for more performance driving. Both are rated wet and dry traction, but neither is a snow tire. Size will dictate what is available for the vehicle.
