My son drives a 1999 Dodge Stratus and I just got it fixed. He needed a new fuel pump. The repair shop fixed it, but now, two weeks later, he called and said his car started smoking and his check engine light came on. Could this be a problem related to the fuel pump fix, or does this sound like something different. Please help!
Your son's Stratus is 16 yrs old. It could in fact be a new problem totally unrelated to the fuel pump.
I recommend you get the problem diagnosed and see what the problem is.
Also, you did not give much information about where the smoke is coming from and how bad this is. You might want to get the vehicle towed to the shop.
If the problem is caused by the last repair, the shop should reimburse you for the tow.
