I drive a Honda Civic and live in Phoenix, AZ. Temps are mainly above 90F. My owner's manual says 2 different things on 2 different pages regarding changing timing belt. On one page it says to replace it at 60K in very high temps over 110F. The other page for Severe Conditions (driving in extremely hot [over 90F] conditions) says 110K or 7 years. That is exactly how it's typed in the manual. Not sure what to do. I had it replaced at 60K by dealer at their recommendation years ago but don't remember how long ago it was. They don't have it on their computer and say they have to look it up in records in files somewhere but never called back. I called again but no answer. I have 110K miles now so I'm thinking when to have this done. I don't drive much anymore maybe 3-4K / year but I may take a 2K trip this summer. My gut tells me that i should do it by 120K (60K since last one). I wish I knew when it was last done. It may be 7-10 years ago. What do you think?
