My 2002 Subaru Outback has power to the stereo you see in the dash (it shows the radio station and other information), but there is no sound coming from the system. I've tried turning it up much higher, but still no sound comes from any speaker. I've checked a fuse in the footwell area of the drivers side and it is fine. What can I check next?

The problem sounds like a connection to your speakers. It could be from the radio or an electrical short to the speakers. Take it to a reputable shop and have them trace the problem.
