Toyota AWD Rav4 with 176k miles, dad says the clutch needs to be replaced, he was told 15 hours of labor at >$100/hr plus parts and fluids and IDK....bottom line is, he is worried my car is done. In Tahoe/Reno area. Any advice?

Elizabeth,
I suggest calling around for quotes, it is a labor intensive repair however may be cheaper than replacing the whole vehicle.
I recommend you get a second opinion. Look for a shop that is AskPatty.com Certified, or a AAA Approved Repair shop.
The actual book hours to do the job is 18.1 hours so you are getting a deal on that.
Hey Elizabeth, a clutch job is very labor intensive, 15 hours might be accurate... It might be time to weigh out your options by finding out what your car is worth and seeing if the repairs exceed the value.
