My 2012 Chevrolet Impala rumbles and stalls when fueling up. Do I have a car problem?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Dear Fred, Never leave your vehicle running when you add fuel to the tank. This is not only dangerous, but could be causing problems with your fuel system.

Barb Petrey, President - DBK Enterprises Inc at Jiffy Lube Car Should be turned off when your fueling. You likely have a problem so take it to the dealer as it is probably under warranty.

Gelina Aquilina, Service Advisor / Mechanic at A 2012 shouldn't have many problems considering it's age. Bring it back to the dealership, it may still be covered under warranty.

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive The vehicle should be off when you are fueling up. Fueling up with the car running may cause drivability issues and set a check engine light.
