The windshield wipers on my 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier stopped working starting first with the passenger side and then later on the drivers side. I just went to the automotive and the guy said that I need to go to a junk yard and get a small piece that connects the motor and the windshield arm. He said that he would put it on once I get the piece but I don't know what the piece is called

Fatrina,
For the entire cost of the motor assembly at a salvage yard would cover the part that is needed, and be far less than an OEM part. So, if you called a salvage yard and asked if they have a wiper motor assembly or a cross over part from a different year, you can purchase the whole unit at a fraction of the cost.
You could go to the dealer and go to the parts department. Ask for a diagram of the wiper motor and wiper arms and point at the piece you need and ask the parts person for the name of it.
You could also ask for a price of a new part. If it's low you might want to just buy it instead of having to go to the junk yard.
Go back to the automotive guy and ask what it is called. If he has access to all data he can print you a picture and give you the name.
The piece you are looking for is called a wiper transmission. If the junk yard doesn't have it, the dealer will probably have to order it.
Hi Fatrina, On your 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, the part that connects the motor and the windshield arm is the wiper transmission. You can call the shop that helped you to verify the part. Good luck.
