What is the problem with my transmission? I drive an automatic 2005 Honda Pilot. When I press on the gas, it sometimes feels like it wants to stall when the car reaches 35-40 mph as if it is having trouble shifting from one gear to the next.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive Sounds like a torque converter issue. Take it to a transmission shop and have it properly evaluated. If it is not transmission related, but engine control related, they should be able to advise you of that as well.

Maryann Croce, Owner at Croce’s Transmission Specialists Mary, Your transmission concern can be addressed by a transmission shop. They can determine whether it is an engine or transmission related problem. If there is a check engine light on they can also address any codes and provide you with a diagnosis. Good luck.
