My Chevrolet Cobalt started sputtering and cut off tonight in a fast food parking lot. it tries to start but it acts like it is out of fuel. I just put half a tank of gas in it. when i turn on the key it makes a loud noise for a minute then stops. Was their a recall on the fuel pumps for my 2007 Chevy Cobalt LS and if so how do i go about getting it fixed? My car is broken down. Carrie
Call GM with the VIN for the vehicle. They would be able to verify that the fuel pump recall does apply to your vehicle. If the recall does apply to your vehicle, tow it to the dealer and let them fix it.

Could be the fuel pump or it could be bad gas. You can call the dealer to find out if there is a recall.

I don't know if there was a recall on the fuel pump for your 2007 Cobalt or not. You could call the dealer and give them your VIN [vehicle identification number - found on the door jam of the drivers door] and ask.
As far as getting it fixed, sounds like you need to get it towed to an AskPatty.com Certified independent repair shop or dealer and have them diagnose the problem.
