The gauges on the dashboard of my Ford Windstar fluctuate. If I bang on panel sometimes they move and reset themselves, then they will jump around all by themselves. What is going on and how can I fix it?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Geoffrey, I would consider that your instrument panel needs replacement, you may have a salvage yard that you can pull a good cluster from that may be a more cost effective method.

Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Hi Geoffrey, Sounds like your Windstar is having electrical issues. I recommend you take it to an Certified shop and have the problem diagnosed by a trained technician.

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive I recommend taking it to a qualified repair shop. There may be a loose connection somewhere in the dash or the instrument cluster may be on its way out.
