My motor making a clicking noise when i accelerate, but when in idle or foot off gas the motor is silent. What could the problem be?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Patty Streeter, at A clicking sound can mean a number of things. One of the more common things may be to have your valves adjusted. Take your car in for a complete inspection at a reputable ASE certified shop.

Stephanie Gutierrez, Marketing at Victory Auto Service & Glass The best way to find out what is causing the problem is to have a technician ride in the car with you. It could be something at the wheels causing the noise or something more serious, but this is a problem that definitely needs the ears and eyes of a quality technician. I would recommend contacting your local Ask Patty Certified Female Friendly auto repair shop and setting up an appointment right away.
