Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Bill, You can visit your local auto parts store, where they may be able to hook up a diagnostic tester or free and help you read the code that is setting your check engine light. Having this done, can give you a benchmark to repair. As for the battery, you may have a dead cell and simply replace to prevent being stranded. Hoe this helps, and write back if you have any further questions.
