i was driving my car for twenty minutes one day and then it drove like the distrubitor was wet sputtering and losing speed. after it died i started and it idles just fine until i stepped n the gas it would die so it sat for a week and i changed the whole distrubitor rotor cap and now i can't get it to start i can get it to spudder once like it will start but just won't i took fuel lines off fuel filter on top then cranked it over nothing then took line off bottom and cranked it and very little gas spertted out so i'm thinking fuel pump can't hear it kick on will it be loud enough to hear

Eddie,
Typically, yes, when you turn the key on in the RUN position you can hear the fuel pump kick on. A low hum sound should be audible from the gas tank area.
