hi had tensioner belt (big belt) replaced due to screeching noise when air, fan, and heater is on. It sounds like a chirp and then there is a screech and it is intermittent. So what now? part was 100.00 and they are going to look at it and see if they can figure it out. Tires good, brakes good. so ?? thx

Lori,
More than likely you have a belt tension (part that the belt rides on) that could be failing. Sometimes, the race on the inside begins to fail, that gives off a screeching noise.
Hope this helps!
Dear Lori,
It's possible that the noise is coming from a pulley or a bearing and not the belt. I would definitely take it back and have them look at it. If they only replaced it for the noise, they should fix the noise.
A screeching noise could be the belt slipping, which means that they need to adjust the tightness of the belt. You paid for this repair, make sure they fix it.
