A Nissan SE is a V6 or six cylinder engine.
If in doubt, lift the hood of your vehicle. Look for how many spark plug wires come together near the top of your engine block (with a v shaped engine they would be on both sides of the engine). How ever many spark plug wires is how many cylinders your vehicle has.

Usually the xterra has a v6 engine, which means it would have 6 cylinders. Hope this helps

Xterras were configured with several option packages combining the 170 horsepower 3.3 L VG33E V6 engine with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission
Alex, the 2001 Nissan Xterra SE was equipped with both a 4 cylinder and a V6 (6 cylinder) model. The SE was sold primarily with the V6, or 6 cylinder model. How many cylinders you have could also depend on where your Xterra was made. Canadian models for example, were only made with the V6 option. If you open the hood there should be an engine size listed either on the engine or on the inside of the hood. The V6 would be listed as a 3.3L and the 4-cylinder would be listed as a 2.4L. Hope this helps!
