We put a new rack & pinion in a mercury tracer 1999 and while the car was jacked up. We started the ignition and the steering wheel went wild not stopping nor could I stop it, until the ignition was turned off. What would cause this?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Judy Curry, Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing at Currys Auto Service Teri, Sounds like a defective seal in the spool valve of the rack. Definitely get a refund and try another one!
