The repair cost range greatly depending on the service needed. It may cheaper just to purchase another engine (used or remanufactured). Sometimes, depending on repair issues you may be able to just trade the salvaged parts to a used car lot and take a deduction off another car purchase.

It depends on what your engine needs. If you need to replace it, there are a lot of good rebuilds available. I put a rebuilt Jasper engine in my Toyota and they warrantied it for 100,000 miles or 3 years...it's running great.
You need to think about how much it's worth to you. Some people may just want a newer vehicle rather than dealing with an engine repair expense and others may not be able to buy another vehicle. Each person has to figure out what the most economical choice for them is. Good luck.
