I had my oil changed at a local place which was of course different from the dealer. I still have a notice when I turn the car on that I need to change the oil. Is it a switch or something else. I did see the oil changed so I know its been done but the indicator does not go off?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Kristin, You can check in your owners manual that will explain how to have this reset. Many models do follw this method; Key ON engine OFF, press gas pedal to the floor THREE times, cycle key off and on. Light should be reset. Hope this helps!!

Barb Petrey, President - DBK Enterprises Inc at Jiffy Lube Go back and ask them to reset your oil light. They should be able to do that if they can't it may be in your owners manual or go to oil reset. Com.

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Kristin, Look in your owner's manual to see if it tells you how to turn it off. If not, you'll have to contact a dealer and talk to someone in the service department to find out how to do it. You can also look on-line by searching your year, make and model. This is how I was able to turn mine off. Lori Johnson
