Downsizing from what? I guess you want a mid size SUV ? and without knowing your budget, seating needs and MPG need miles driven per year and whether you live in snow country mountains or??. I will just mention a few of my favorites. Lexus RX models Awesome mid size SUV they will be 25K plus used,Seats 5. Other mid size SUV are Ford Explorer you can get one with a third seat and seat 7 Used from 15K up. Toyota highlander, Honda Pilot TO mention a few. Cars.com has a great research tool that gives pricing, size MPG etc along with reviews on all used cars. It may help you choose. I would need a lot more info to give you a proper answer.

Our daughter just recently did research for a new vehicle that would serve her well now (about to graduate from college) and when she starts her family. She looked at the Ford Flex, Honda Pilot and the Chevrolet Equinox. She drove all of them, looking at spaciousness, passenger capacity and comfort, ease of driving (especially turning), brake time, special features, the "fit" as a driver, and resale value. She was driving a 2008 Honda CRV. After much deliberation she chose a Honda Pilot. She already had good experience with the CRV, but she loved the extra space in the Pilot and it fit her short stature better than the other vehicles. Although she plans to drive this one "forever", she was pleased that it*s resale value will be higher than the other 2.
