1999 Dodge Caravan: the check strap on the front doors squeaks from inside the door as it is opened/closed. I have tried to squirt lube up into the door, but no luck. How do I lube that door check? Thanks!! Norm

Norm,
You should be using an aerosol can with a red straw in a white silicone base formula. You should focus on the door pins and not the hinges as these may be causing the noise that you are chasing.
Hi Norm,
If you have lubricated it and that did not solve your problem, check the hinges to make sure there is not a little something stuck inside. Is the door aligned properly? That too can cause a squeak.
Thanks for writing in.

It sounds like you may be hitting the wrong spot. Keep doing what you are doing - just try another spot.
Hi Norm,
The next step would be to remove the door panel and inspect, the noise may be caused by a broken spring :)

Hello Norm- try oiling the hinges first- if that does not work then you may have to take the door panel off & apply grease to the slider & stop mechanism - hope this helps- thanks Super Girls Auto.
Norm..
Bring a dose of patience....You have to take off the door panel and a few other things and lube it from the inside of the door. It*s rather a puzzle, remember how you took it apart!
Good Luck!
