Front brakes: when applied there is a jerky motion like they are catching and releasing.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Mary, You may have a brake caliper that is "sticking" or you may need your brake rotors "turned" if they are uneven. A.J. Pierce

Audra Fordin, Owner at Great Bear Auto Shop Dear Mary, Have you had brakes put on your car recently? Brake rotors tend to warp from the intense heat caused from the low brake pads. This "warping" although not dangerous, can cause the jerky feeling you are getting. I suggest to have your brakes checked by a professional to confirm, although uncomfortable, you are not in danger. Thanks for writing in, Audra (the auto-motivator)

Laurie Sarno, Co-Owner at Super Girls Auto Hello Mary- this could be several things- 1) Problems with the brake calipers 2) also could be worn or damaged front suspension components - I would take it to your trusted mechanic & have them check it for you- hope this helps- Thanks Super Girls Auto.
