I would invite you to use www.AskPatty.com to find a shop that will take good care of your Chevrolet Avalanche.
Go to the AskPatty website and look to the right of your screen. You will see the FIND LOCATION section. Click on Dealer or Car Service/Repair, put in your zip code and you will find the nearest www.AskPatty.com Certified Female Friendly Repair Facility to your location.
If by chance there is no one close to you that is www.AskPatty.com Certified Female Friendly, then you could look for the nearest AAA Approved Repair Facility, one that is Accredited by the BBB, or an NAPA AutoCare. See if the shop has a website so you can read about who they are and how they work. You could give the shop a visit to see how clean it is, how polite the staff is and how well they can answer any questions you have.
I would also recommend asking your friends and neighbors where they that their vehicle in for service and repair. A good recommendation means a lot.

The best thing to do is to check out Ask Patty*s site for finding a Female Friendly Certified shop near you. Go to www.AskPatty.com and use the form on the page to find one near you.
Also you can ask friends if they have a shop they trust. Above all else, make SURE the shop is ASE certified. If you have a dealership you trust you can also take it there.
Another idea is to look into purchasing the CarMD, which you can use to diagnose the issues on your own. It*s a great product (I have one) and you plug it in and it gives you info you can look up online and even chat with a technician to find out costs involved. Give it a try! www.CarMD.com
