I am interested in finding out more information about the Chevy Malibu. I know last year*s model had the adjusting pedal and was a hybrid. I don*t think the 2010 has either of those features. I have the adjusting pedal on my Mercury Sable and it has been very helpful. I want to have a hybrid.
What American car do you recommend that might have those two features.
Do you think it would be a good idea to look for a 2009 model? I have called a couple of dealerships and I know some could be found but I don*t think the price is much different from the 2010 models.
Unfortunately, Chevrolet discontinued the hybrid Malibu and adjustible pedals after the 2009 model year. If those features are important to you, and the price differential is not significant, then it makes sense to shop for a 2009 model with the features you want. Ford offers a hybrid Mercury Milan and Ford Fusion though I don't think either of them offers adjustible pedals.
You can find some information on the following sites:
Here are the different hybrid cars from hybrid.com
As for buying 2009 or 2010...I would suggest that you search on-line at Kelly Blue Book for 2009 prices and then see what dealerships are offering. This way you'll go in with an idea of what you should be able to get the vehicle for. Most dealerships want to get rid of their older stock, so don't be afraid to negotiate. Hope this helps.
