I just had my intake manifold replaced on my 1997 Ford Thunderbird. Now it is starting to miss. It was not missing before I took it in. They want to give me a complete tune-up and I want to trade the car in. Could it be possible the rear spark plug could be causing it to miss and if I just replaced it that might be a temporary cure. they want $400.00 for a complete tune-up and right now I want to go the quick fix.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Karen Davis, Service Manager at Smith Stokes I would ask the service department on what cylinder is it missing. If it is just missing on one cylinder, you may be able to replace the plug or wire for that cylinder if that is what is causing the issue. Just keep in mind that if the one is causing a problem the rest won't be far behind.
