I have $18,000.00 approved loan thru my credit union @7.5%, is this the price range I am to work with when buying a new vehicle at Saturn? I was turned town for $30,000.00 2009 Outlook (would really like to buy an Outlook)

Breanne Boyle, Contributing Editor at Patricia, You can buy any vehicle you want through Saturn as long as you are able to either pay for the cost up front or finance the cost. Because you are approved for $18,000 doesn*t mean you can*t buy a $30,000 car, but it does mean that you will have to find the funds to cover the remaining $12,000. You can do that by getting another loan, trying to negotiate your current loan to higher, or paying cash for the rest. Make sure you think about what kind of payments you want to make. At 7.5% you will be making fairly high payments on a $18,000 loan for the first few years (I am assuming you are taking it out for the standard 60 months). More than what car you would like to have, make sure you are getting a car that will be financially doable for you. I hope this helps!
