My Airbag Warning light is blinking on the dashboard. My mechanic says there is a short somewhere on the negative side of the battery. He wants $75.00 to start looking and will go up from there. Do you think this is a fair cost.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Suzanne Grego, Technician at City of Philadelphia Fleet Management Jim Bromwell, Electrical diagnosis can sometimes get complicated and can be time consuming. If it*s just a short, the repair itself should not be too expensive, but finding the short could be the difficult part. $75.00 is a fair and pretty standard price to begin diagnosing an electrical problem.
