Recently and for some time the engine has been racing but not getting over 40 miles an hour, the check gauges light comes on and the oil pressure gauge drops to zero , after a few seconds it goes back up , this was doing this about 3 years ago and I was took it needed a new engine, so I had the engine replaced , it had been doing this again lately , I took it to a car repair shop and they told me they needed to tear down the engine , to see if it was the oil pump or it may need a new engine again , I decided to trade it in , instead , and now have a different car , was this the right decision ?

Shirley Souder,
This is a situation where you would need to weigh the pros and cons. If the vehicle was older and having or nearing other issues, it may have been time to move on. I hope you are enjoying your new vehicle.
