My car is a 2004 model with about 60k miles. when I accelerate or make turns, I can hear what sounds like rushing/trickling water coming from the passenger side of behind the dashboard. It's been doing it for a few months, but has been getting a little louder lately. What could be causing the noise and how can it be fixed?
What you are probably hearing is fluid moving in the heater core. This is coolant that is directed into the heater core to heat the interior of your vehicle. You may be hearing it more because you started using the heat in your vehicle. It's located on the passenger side under the dash.
Otherwise, when the heat is off, coolant is not sent to the heater core.
As long as you do not see a leak, you're probably fine. Once the heater core goes it usually leaks coolant/antifreeze on the passenger side floor. At this time you need to replace the heater core. Hope this helps.
