Hello, how are you? Every time I press on my brakes it feels weird and makes a horn sound. I am very concerned that when I take my car in I will either be cheated or overcharged for the repair. I want to know please where to go and how much I should be charged.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda Wetherill Holmes, Parts and Service Director and Vice President of Operations at Devon Hill BMW Jessica, Call around to your local Honda dealers and tell them what is wrong and ask them to give you a quote over the phone. This way you will have an idea of that it is going to cost. I also recommend going to a Honda dealer, they have skilled technicians and they use Honda parts. Cheers, Amanda

Donna Burmeister, Service Manager at Classic Nissan Do you have a relationship with your Honda dealer? I would take it there, they have certified techs.

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Jessica, The brakes are a safety item, so I recommend having this problem looked at right away. They will probably suggest that you replace the brake pads and maybe even the rotors. I would recommend going to the dealership or a shop that uses Honda parts. Many times other brake pads will make noise even though they are new if you don't get them from the manufacturer. Lori Johnson
