I just got a 1992 Dodge Shadow ES convertible from my sister (her kids are finally done with it). How do you clean a filthy white convertible top? And I would like to use Rain-Ex & De-Fog on the plastic window in the back, but not sure if I can...

you can always go to your local dealership and they would have a detail dept that could do the job for you but if you would like to do it yourself. Go to your local auto parts store and you can buy over the counter top cleaner and plastic window cleaner/polish. You should be able to do a full cleaning of both in about one hour..

With soft top fabric, you can go gently with liquid Tide and a soft scrub brush or as harsh as Comet cleanser and scrub brush. Either method calls for 1)constant running water over painted areas; 2) work in one small area at a time; 3) don*t work in the sun; 4)prepare to wax the car*s finish after this type of cleansing. Any product listed as "detergent" (or Comet!) removes wax from surfaces.
The plastic rear window yellowing is caused by UV exposure, like a suntan. Products are available at auto parts stores to attempt to improve the look or clarity of the plastic, but not a complete cure. It wouldn*t hurt to try the RainEx on window, but it won*t cure the UV damage. Good Luck! Jennifer
