I came out of the grocery store to find my car dead. Tried to get a jump; nothing. When I turn the key in the ignition, it clicks once then nothing happens. The bell for the door rings and my dash indicator lights come on. What could this be?
It's possible that the battery is so dead that jumping it wouldn't work. It's also possible that it just wasn't connected well enough to get it going.
If you are getting dash lights, then there is some battery power. I don't usually recommend that you get a jump using jumper cables because it can cause damage to the computers in your vehicle.
They make a jump box, which is powered by a battery and it's much safer.
I would have the battery checked. Most likely it either needs a good charge, or you will need to replace it.
