Hi! I just accepted an offer to sell Audis and VWs at our local Audi/VW dealership. I have been in sales before but never in the auto industry. Just about everything I am reading tells me this is a perfect opportunity for women. I am told I have the personality, intelligence and professionalism it takes to be successful. Please help me in solidifying my decision to jump on this! I just gave my two-weeks notice at my current employer and want as much confidence as possible before I start. I am a wife and a mother of a high schooler and I know the hours I must put into this position of sales. I just need to know I've made the right decision! Any advise from my fellow female auto professionals is appreciated!!
You have made an excellent decision. For the next two weeks, do a little research about the product you will be selling. Go to other dealers and see how you are treated during the sales process. Tell them you are beginning to look for a new vehicle. Ask a lot of questions. When you start at the dealer, tell all your friends and ask for referrals. Ask the top sales person at the dealership for advice and follow their lead.
It is a great business for women. Good Luck and Good Selling!
