Dear Martha,
The cabin air filter is located on the evaporator. You will need to remove the glove box to get to it. Once the glove box is out you should be able to pull it out towards you like a tray.
The glove box is usually held on by 2 philips head screws on the underside, attached to the dash. Once you remove them you should be able to lift the glove box out. You could also try to remove the stoppers so that the glove box opens all the way and then you can reach the filter behind it. Hope this helps.
