Answers from the Automotive Experts

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Bernadette, Unfortunately compressors are expensive. The compressor itself may cost you almost $900 and then it looks like labor is around 2 hours to install it. The system then has to be re-charged again and they will charge more time for that. That price sounds a little high, but only by about $300 or so. You could shop around and see what other price you get. A/C components are expensive parts. Many time people chose not to fix their a/c. If you're living in a hot climate though, it's just too hot in the summer not to have it! Good Luck. Lori Johnson
