Saw you on TV this morning.
do i really have to change my oil every three thousand miles? A local mechanic told me i have to change it every 1500 miles because it is an SUV. This sounds shady, what say you?
Where did you see us on TV today? I'm not aware of Ask Patty being shown anywhere.
As for the oil change, the best thing to do is to check your owner's manual. In the back there should be a maintenance schedule. I know that I change my oil every 3,000 miles because my truck is 19 years old.
Many newer vehicles run so efficiently now that oil changes are being done less frequently.
Changing your oil more frequently is not a bad thing, but it can become costly if it's not really necessary.
Check your owner's manual and go by the recommended service intervals and you should be fine. If you were 4 wheeling in the desert I might
recommend changing the oil more often. Hope this helps.
