Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Chris, I'm surprised that you're not getting a check engine light coming on. There are many possible reasons for this such as a fuel problem, EGR, maybe the throttle position sensor...but that would set a code most likely. I would suggest that you have a technician take it out for a test drive with you so that they can see what it's doing. This problem is best diagnosed by having someone actually look at the vehicle.
