I found your web site while looking for a network of female kit car builders. I live in the UK and am about to embark on building 1940 style racing car in kit form. The running gear will be stripped from a 1984 jaguar xj6 4.2 manual. My partner and I have done some simple car maintenance previously but never reconditioned an engine before.I would love to be part of a net work of women like yourselves. Do you know if there are similar orginizations in the UK or can you tell me if you are able to provide info and support for international members? I look forward to your reply,
Hi Sue: Glad this question came to me! MY shop here in the US specializes in exotics as well as US muscle cars and hot rods.
The best place I have found for advice is messages boards where there are others who do what you do.
Unfortunately, most of the people who post are men, but don't let that discourage you.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/ is one and http://www.kitcars.com/forums/ is another .I have a slew of others we use here from the shop.
We also handle exotics as well as kit cars and you are welcome to use our shop as a resource for info as well as parts purchasing if you need to.
My shop email is: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can always Google the shop (Chop-Shop Customs) to get our website as well. Ill be happy to help in any way I can.
