BMW 740 142,000 miles automatic trans will not upshift into overdrive

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Rolanda, A couple quick things you can check is to make sure that if you have an overdrive button, that you didn't switch it off accidentally. This will keep you from going into overdrive. Look in your owner's manual for an explanation on this. You can also find the section in the book that tells you how to check the fluid level. If both of those are good, then you will need to take your vehicle to a certified shop or dealership to get a diagnosis. Lori Johnson New from Askpatty: Ask Patty is announcing CarBlabber.
