I want to buy a new Pontiac Grand Prix. The sales staff is pressuring me to buy before Sept. 4 when the current incentives run out ($2000 on 2007 and $1500 on 2008 models). My boyfriend says to wait since they always have some sort of rebate going and the later you wait the higher the rebate. Also early in 2008 the Grand Prix will be replaced by the G8, so in a few months the incentives should be at their maximum. Should I wait or buy now?

Your salesman is pressuring because the current incentives end on Sept. 4th. Believe me when I tell you the dealers DO NOT know what the new incentives are going to be. On September 5th they may not be able to offer you the same deal.
The manufactures generally start to pull back the rebates as use up their budget or when they only have a few "leftovers" to sell. So it
