The brakes can make a squeaking noise because of the material of the brake pad. Many times if you use and after market brake pad you will get noise.
Sometimes you may hear this noise after a rain or after the vehicle sits for a little bit, but it goes away once you apply the brakes a few times.
This noise, while annoying, is usually not a problem. Sometimes the only way to fix this is to put on new brake pads from the dealership.
If you're hearing a loud scraping noise however, you need to get that looked at right away.
I would suggest that you have the people who did you brakes take a look at them, but most likely, while noisy, they are working fine.
