My speed gauge isn't working and the car jumps when its going through the gears.Someone said that its a speed sensor in the transmission. this all started after a oil change.

Dear Kabira,
I don*t think that having the oil changed has any connection with your current problem.
You may have 2 separate problems happening.
1. the speed gauge is not working.
2. The car jumping with shifting gears.
I suggest you take it in to have these issues diagnosed.

Dear Kabira,
The oil change should not have affected the other problems that you're having.
The vehicle going into gear hard is probably an issue with your transmission. I would suggest that you have a transmission service if you haven't done this recently. Sometimes replacing the transmission fluid can fix this hard shifting problem. It may need more than this, but it's a place to start.
The speedometer is either run electronically or by a cable, depending on the year and make of the vehicle. This could also be related to the transmission if it's not getting a proper signal about speed.
Take your vehicle to a shop that can diagnose transmission problems and let them know about the speedometer as well. They may be able to fix both.
Good luck.
