How do you change spark Plugs on a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus 6 cylinder

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Maureen, If you need to ask how to change the spark plugs on your car, this sends up a big red flag to me. I highly suggest you take an automotive class, purchase a how to book specifically written for Chrysler Cirrus and have an experienced mechanic walk you through this procedure the first time you do it. I think it is GREAT that you want to work on your own car, and there is no reason you can*t. But, if you don*t have the training you could make a mistake that could do a lot of damage and end up costing you a lot of money. All My Best, Amy Mattinat

Suzanne Grego, Technician at City of Philadelphia Fleet Management Maureen, Changing spark plugs varies depending on the make and model of the vehicle. Sometimes, you need to remove components that are in your way. Sometimes, the spark plugs are right there and very easy to get to. The most important thing to remember when changing plugs is to make sure you keep the spark plug wires in the same order. If you cross any of the wires, you can make your vehicle run very rough, or not at all. Also, it*s a good idea to check the gap on the new plugs and make sure they are in spec with your vehicle. You will need spark plug wire pliers and the correct size spark plug socket. If you haven*t done anything like this before, ask someone for help. Usually, it*s not that difficult, but it*s better to have someone around that knows what they*re doing. Also, keep in mind that the spark plug wires carry a dangerous amount of voltage, so if you don*t know what you are doing, make sure you get help. Suzanne
