My car is a 1998 Grand Prix-has 114,000 miles onit-just started making a sound like an airplane-don\*t know how else to describe it! Goes along with jumping rpm\*s....temp gage shows its still cooling ok....any idea what it could be? Thanks!

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Tiffany, It would be hard to diagnose the vehicle without seeing it and hearing the noise. It's possible that you have an exhaust leak. This would make the engine sound much louder than it should. I would suggest that you take it to an ASE certified shop or dealership to have this looked at. If it's this loud you want to take care of it right away before causing possible damage. Lori Johnson
