Hi Steve,
Is there another Chevy dealer in the next town or a independent shop who specializes on Chevy Malibus? I have had many a client needing warranty work who don't get good service at a specific dealer, so I send them to another dealer an hour away and it gets fixed ASAP.
Best Of Luck,

Steve,
I have yet to come across a problem that could not be fixed. It's possible that in order to correct this problem, it might be expensive and that's why the dealer said that. I would suggest going back to the dealer again and express your concern. Or, you could try an ASE certified auto repair store. Good luck.
