I have a 1997 camry, 71600 miles, runs well. What maintenance does it need? How much should I put into it/or should I sell it and buy another? Thank you

You're probably getting close to needing a timing belt replacement. Of course you'll need to maintain the vehicle by doing oil changes, coolant flushes, brake replacements, as they need to be done.
The best thing to do would be to look in your owner's manual to find your maintenance schedule and follow that.
As for keeping the vehicle, it depends if the vehicle needs a lot of work or not. I've been driving the same Toyota for 19 years, so they will last if you keep them properly maintained.
You need to weigh the odds out between the cost of maintaining the vehicle and having car payments to make a decision about buying or not.
