I recently got a new power steering pump for my 2001 civic and the mechanic put in automatic transmission fluid saying its okay. is it really okay?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Hassan, According to what I've read you should not use automatic transmission fluid, but Honda power steering fluid. Check your owner's manual and if you're still unsure, call a local Honda dealership and ask so that no damage occurs to your vehicle. Lori Johnson
