I have a 2002 ford mustang and it is making a humming noise coming from the front end , louder on the drivers side. When you take the power stering belt off the noise stops so I had a power stering pump put on it and it still makes the noise. Do you know what it could be?

Dear Mary,
Did they check the system when they replaced the steering pump?
You can get a noise when there is air in the system, but if they replaced the pump they should have changed the fluid and properly "burped" the air out.
The other possiblity is the steering rack or a pulley that the belt rides on.
Have the vehicle diagnosed by a certified technician and ride with them so that they hear the same noise that you do.
If you had the steering pump replaced for the noise and it's still there, I would question the shop that did it, since you still have the problem.
