Hi Patty, my 02 Honda Odyssey dashboard sometimes buzzes loudly when I turn on the car. The DRL light comes on too. The buzzing stops either when I turn on the headlights or when I turn off the car (restarting the car usually gets rid of the buzzing and I drive away, ignoring the problem *til the next time). Our dealer couldn*t replicate the problem and thus had no answers. Do you? Thanks in advance, and thanks to the Hartford Courant for mentioning your site today!
P.S. Return advice (whispered): you may wish to correct grammar errors in your disclaimer (it*s/its).
My first thought would be that you're hearing a noise from a relay for the lights. The DRL stands for daylight running lights. It's possible that there is a problem in this system and the relay is making noise.
When you take it to the dealership explain the problem just like you told me. You've given a lot of good information of when it makes the noise and how you stop it. They should be able at least look at the system and see if this is causing your noise.
If you find that this noise only happens when you first start the vehicle in the morning, find out if you can leave it overnight at the dealer so they can try it when it's cold to see if they get the noise. Good luck.
