The belt jumps when i accelerate (makes a really loud noise) if i turn off the ac when i first accelerate and turn it on when up to speed it does not vibrate. The belt has finally been thrown off. Patty Streeter, at AskPatty.com Dear Karen, It sounds like there may be a problem with one of the pulleys that the belt is riding on. I'm not sure if that belt only works the a/c, or it's attached to something else. The person who replaced the belt should have checked these pulleys before replacing it. Belts don't just fall off for no reason. Take it to the dealership and have the problem diagnosed by a trained technician. Let them know that you've already had one belt come off. I suggest you take your car to your local authorized dealership or to an ASE certified technician.
