Sometimes there is a problem with the starter not releasing once it starts the vehicle, but it's hard to say.
There may be a problem with the flywheel as well.
You should take it in and have someone listen to it to determine exactly where the noise is coming from so that it can be repaired. You should probably do this soon, grinding noises mean that something is being worn down and could become a much more expensive problem if left to continue.
